Hi there!

My name is Pei Ying and I’m a 2nd year Psychology student in NTU. I’ve always liked animals and it spurred me to take the Conservation Psychology module this semester. Aside for my passion for animals, I have always loved gardening. My dream is to own a beautiful garden filled with roses and other fruit bearing plants and herbs. Right now, as HDB flats usually do not have an outdoor area, I’m only able to own pots of roses and other succulents.

My roses

Last year, I received an email from AVAAZ, a campaigning community, which brought my attention to the Colony Collapse Disorder problem. I was intrigued and disturbed and did my research and digging in this field. From that, I learnt about the importance of bees.  So when I was given the opportunity to pick a topic for this project. I decided that delving into the issue of local bees in Singapore would be perfect. I hope this blog raises the awareness of the public about bees, to inform them about the importance of bees and clear up any misconceptions about them.
