Impacts on fishing industry

Whenever an oil spill happens, the fish farms are directly affected, and the costs incurred by these farmers are concerning. Fishes in the farms might die, and the fishes that are caught in the vicinity of the affected areas raise the concern for food safety. Fish farms sometimes have to suspend sales because their fishes are not safe for consumption.

In 2017, 2 fish farms reported fish moralities of up to 200 kg.
