In Southeast Asia, bats constitute approximately 30% of the region’s mammal species and as many as half of all mammal species in the tropical rainforest ecoregions. Moreover, SEA supports nearly 30% of world’s bat fauna. Of the 330 species identified in SEA, 197 are endemic to the region, making SEA crucial for international bat conservation.
