Nature

Definition of Nature

Nature is often described as a free of human interference and construction where it encourages pristine wilderness. However, it is extremely difficult to separate humans from nature as it is obvious that nearly all environments have human impacts on it. Especially in urban settlements, nature is intermixed with built elements. Such melding can be seen in urban parks and gardens, zoos and aquariums, boardwalks constructed in nature reserve and blazed mountain trails.

Using Singapore as a model to demonstrate human nature development in an urban settlement, we will explore how Singapore continues to stay connected with nature in thriving cities.
