“No single organization or individual can make the campaign to save the Philippine hotspot successful. Only by building a critical mass of ardent biodiversity advocates will the biodiversity crisis become part of the national consciousness and part of the national debate. Otherwise, it will continue to receive little attention, not only from the government, but also from the Philippine society.”

Hi everybody! Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! This blog is all about the current loss of biodiversity that the Philippines is experiencing. The reason I chose this topic is because the majority of the population in the Philippines is not aware of what a megadiverse hotspot the Philippines is. I wanted to do my part (however insignificant it is) to create awareness of this beautiful country and its species and the extent of biodiversity loss it has undergone and is currently experiencing. On exploring my blog, you will discover that there are many species of both plants and animals that are native only to the Philippines and not found anywhere else on the planet and also that these unique species play fundamental roles in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

In addition to that, I’ll be exploring more on the causes of why the government has exhibited many inefficiencies in addressing the biodiversity crisis in the Philippines and what other possible practices they can adopt to better address the situation. Hope you enjoy exploring my blog:)
