The Irwins

More than half a decade after his death, his legacy lives on in the forma of a fiercely driven family whose spirit, ideals and coals exactly match his own.

The family has launched, or helped launch, countless wildlife conservation efforts over the years. Privately and through Australia Zoo, they have purchased hundreds of thousands of acres of land in several countries with the sole purpose of protecting these natural habitats from human interference.

The zoo itself also runs individualized programs for the protection and care of endangered or threatened species, including koalas, tigers, elephants, cheetahs, and giant land tortoises. Every day, the family continues to demonstrate that a wildlife conservationist’s job is never done.
