Jeff Corwin established the Emerald Rainforest Canopy Foundation with the help of Dr. Jahoda and funding from Bridgewater State College. He was deeply attracted by the wonders in Belize Rainforest after his first visit during his teenage years and that motivated him to work towards protecting these marvels of nature, hence he set up this nonprofit organization.

The Emerald Rainforest Canopy Foundation aims to protect the rainforest located around South and Central America by educating the public about the delicate ecosystem and ways that they can contribute to its preservation.

Jeff served in the Youth Action Committee of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) for his work on the Emerald Rainforest Canopy Foundation. He also addressed the General Assembly of the United Nation during an environmental conference about the protection of rainforest.
