Thematic Exhibition

The Singapore Zoo is designed in a way in which there are many different themed exhibitions. Furthermore, enclosures in the zoo are designed to mimic the natural habitats where the animals live in. This not only makes the visitors’ visit to the zoo more real, it also allows better well-being for the animals.

The Singapore Zoo provides the visitors with a variety of different exhibition zones such as the following:

On top of that, there are also replicas of the Konso and Amharic Villages. With SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESthe recreations of the dwelling huts composed of mud walls, visitors are able to learn more about how the Ethiopian tribe led their daily lives.

In this exhibit, it features a colony of more than 90 Hamadryas baboons who are some of the most fascinating animals in the zoo. With the 360-degree view of the Rift Valley, visitors can watch how the baboon clans engage in their social activities.

Reptile Garden

You should not miss the chance to go up close and see the gentle giant tortoises in the Reptile Garden as they are the second largest species of tortoises. Also, this exhibit has a collection of other cold-blooded species including the largest lizard in the world – Komodo dragon! The enclosure is designed to resemble their naturalistic reptilian habitat.

Fragile Forest

The Fragile Forest is a huge biodome that allows visitors to physically travel through the tropical rainforest. In this exhibit, visitors can experience the different stratas of a rainforest and get to know more about the diversity of flora and fauna in there, such as the sloths, lemurs and mousedeers.

It also aims to educate and increase people’s understanding of the plant’s delicate ecosystems. For example, there are also “live” educational displays such as the butterfly lifecycle observation booth. When visitors personally experience the fragility of the rainforest and mangrove systems, it will be a memorable adventure for them!

Proboscis Monkey

The SingapoSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESre Zoo has one of the largest collections of proboscis monkeys among the other zoos in the world. In this exhibit, we will be able to observe the big-nosed monkeys and their activities! Do you know that the bigger the nose the better it is? The clan leadership is actually decided based on the size of their nose!

One conservation research being carried out by John Sha is on the Abundance and Behavioral Ecology of Proboscis Monkeys in Sabah. This project aims to estimate the population of the proboscis monkey in the entire state of Sabah and understand how these monkeys interact with their environment. All these will actually help in the long term conservation efforts of these monkeys

Australian Outback

This enclosure is designed and conceptualized in collaboration with the late Steve Irwin, Australia’s own wildlife icon. It adopts an open concept as visitor enter the walk-through area with kangaroos and agile wallabies hopping around freely.
