Government Law

This segment elaborates on The Asian Elephant Conservation Act of 1997.

Research has been conducted and findings have concluded that Asian elephants are dwindling to an extent that their long-term survival is in jeopardy. Conserving Asian elephants have met with various challenges, and resources have been insufficient to cope with the continuous habitat loss and their reducing numbers.

Ergo, this ACT aims to help conserve and protect these Elephants by providing support to conservation programmes through fundings.

Under S(6) of The Asian Elephant Conservation Act of 1997, Asian Elephant Conservation Fund accepts and use donations to help assist conservation programmes, address human-elephant conflicts, prohibit elephant trade, help their habitats and promote collaborative projects with governments (The Asian Elephant Conservation Act of 1997).
