Human-elephant Conflict

As a result of being pushed to unsuitable places to live in, elephants tend to:

  1. Trample on crops

    When elephants raid crops for their own survival, they are affecting the livelihood of humans dependent on those crops. Hence, conflict occurs and these elephants may be killed (Woodroffe, Thirgood, & Rabinowitz, 2005)

  2. Destroy properties
