Hello everyone,

In this part of my blog, I will tell you something about myself. I am Kim van der Weel, a twenty year old student Pedagogical Sciences from the Netherlands. I study in Rotterdam and spend my weekends with my parents in a little city in the countryside. I love to spend my free time at the beach, especially on a horseback. Meeting with my friends is also really important to me.

It was a bit hard to come up with subject for my blog as an exchange student, because I don’t have a lot of knowledge about conservation and nature in South-East Asia. That is why I chose a subject that interested me after I had noticed a few cultural differences here, in particular the freezing lecture rooms at university and the almost annoying taps in bathrooms. It seemed contraditctory to me that Singapore is super sustainable on one hand, but less on the other. That is why I wanted to know more about sustainability in Singapore.
