Hello!

As Singapore continues to develop, more and more wildlife areas are being replaced by urban developments. This has lead to one of the biggest human-wildlife conflict in Singapore that I’m sure most of us have heard of before because of its frequent appearance in the media, especially in 2013 where there was a peak in the number of macaque complaints, leading to the culling of 570 macaques that year. Is co-existence possible, or is culling the only solution?

This blog intends to look at how we can co-exist with macaques in urban Singapore. Here’s a video to introduce you to the problem of human-macaque conflict in Singapore.
