As a Facebook user, I felt enlightened after reading this

Most people we know are Facebook users. We probably know why people use Facebook, and what motivates them to keep themselves logged in all the time.

However, do we know what it is that Facebook users actually experience? How do Facebook users describe their thought processes when using Facebook, and how do their experiences affect them emotionally?

This piece of qualitative research gives us some deep insights:

As a Facebook user myself, I felt enlightened after reading this. I could easily identify with some of the intentions that were described, and I can now better understand how people are using Facebook, including the range of emotions they may possibly feel.

Whether or not you are a student of communication, you might find this journal article a good read too.
