ScienceDirect improved search

sdSearchScienceDirect search function has recently been improved to make search results more relevant to your queries. This ScienceDirect blog post shares some useful tips to try in your next search on this database including the following:

  • search terms are not case sensitive i.e. A… = a…
  • singular terms also return plurals and possessives i.e. cat = cat, cats and cat’s
  • search terms can be either US or UK spelling
  • phrase search using quote marks ” ” are fuzzy but curly brackets { } are exact
  • searches are auto-boolean AND
