“If you steal from one author, it’s plagiarism; if you steal from many, it’s research.”
~Wilson Mizner, 1876 – 1933

Of course Mizner was just kidding when he made this statement. Plagiarism, however, is no laughing matter. If you have ever wondered what the fuss over plagiarism is all about, or would like to know more about this topic, this workshop is for you.

There are two activities-based workshops: one for undergraduates and one for postgraduates & researchers.

The workshop for undergraduates will cover:

  1. What does the NTU Honour Code say about plagiarism?
  2. Types of plagiarism and how to avoid it.
  3. The difference between plagiarism and copyright infringement.
  4. How to provide proper citation in academic writing.

The workshop for postgraduates & researchers will cover:

  1. What does the NTU Honour Code say about plagiarism?
  2. The difference between plagiarism and copyright infringement.
  3. Discussion of case studies and experiences with plagiarism.
  4. Plagiarism and the research life cycle.
