Could photographs be assessed and accessed through Rasa, the Indian philosophical theory that determines aesthetic response within the arts such as dance, music, painting, sculpture & film?

Visiting Professor Paul Kohl invites you (rasikas) to experience the nine Rasa: sensuality (shringara), absurdity (hasya) , empathy (karuna), violence (raudra), heroics (vira), fearsomeness (bhayanaka), revulsion (bibhasta), marvelousness (adbhuta) and peace (shanta) of India, through his photographs on display in ADM Library.

The photographs were taken in various sites in India, with a digital Leica and printed in Singapore using all black inks and Canson Paper.  More such works have been recently published in his latest book,  An Indian holiday : wandering in fertile fields ,which is on display at the exhibition area. Do drop by ADM Library to view these stunning photographs!
