As wearable technology continues to gain interest among designers, engineers, scientists and innovators, there is a growing opportunity on the design and aesthetics of wearable products. From watches to glasses, clothing and even sensor-embedded devices, this sector will continue to develop and integrate into people’s life.

Text-iles & Intertextuality – The Exhibition Series explores ideas and possibilities around textiles, fabrics and clothing. The series will feature works from Visiting Assistant Professor Galina Mihaleva and her students from Surface Design (DR2007) and Technology, Art & Fashion (DA9004) classes. The exhibition aims to build awareness and generate insights on the synergy between art, design, IT, engineering and science.

ENVISON
This exhibition will showcase how different textiles and fabrics can be weaved in fashionable outfits. It will feature 7 works by Galina and her students of the DA9004 class.Date: 17 March to 11 April 2014

REALISATION
This exhibition will showcase 20 photographs of works by Galina and her DA9004 students, worn and adapted by models. The photographs were professional taken, which include those by US-based fashion and editorial photographer, Chris Loomis.Date: 17 March to 11 April 2014

EXPLORATION
This exhibition will showcase works by students from the DR2007 class. Students gather inspirations from visual sources, explore different types of surfaces and materials, and imagine how they can be applied in real life.Date: 24 March to 11 April 2014
