About the talk
Have you ever felt a sharp pain and stiff neck after a long day of studying or working? Have you ever felt a throbbing pain and numbness at your upper back after hours of laboratory work? There are simple methods to handle neck and back pains using acupuncture points and stretching exercises. Acupuncture is a retrospective science, going on for 3,000 years. We know it works, but are often not sure why and how. During this informative session, you will get to learn more about managing neck and shoulder pains as well as the science behind acupuncture.

About the speaker

William Peh Wei Liang
Chinese Medicine Physician of Chinese Medicine Clinic
Nanyang Technological University

Physician Peh is a graduate from NTU and he is a registered TCM physician. He graduated with a double degree in Biomedical Sciences and Traditional Chinese Medicine from School of Biological Sciences and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He has treated a wide variety of diseases including Tuina traumatology, pain management, respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions. He possesses knowledge in both Chinese Medicine and modern medical sciences. He has done some genetics and phytochemical research in Chinese Medicine herbs. He is currently the Youth Wing Chief of NTU Chinese Medicine Alumni Association. He is also effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin.
