READING GROUP: INCLUSIVITY FOR THE VISUALLY-IMPAIRED IN ART SPACES

Tuesday, 20 August 2019
6.30 – 8.00pm (restricted participation)

This will be an “Open Chat” session that involves a thesis presentation, several responsorial presentations, a group discussion, and hands-on activities to immerse the group in the theme of the conversation. There will also be Open Readings with the literature provided to glean inspiration for our topic of inclusivity, a necessary condition for democratic and open spaces. The output of this session will be an “accessibility plan” that we can adopt when we curate exhibitions in the future.

C3Curatorial (Singapore) began with a group of classmates from NTU School of Art, Design and Media’s Master of Arts in Museum Studies and Curatorial Practices programme, who wanted to share experiences and make things happen together. It represents a safe space to take risks, incubate ideas and experimentations, as well as a support network through which members can collaborate and launch concrete undertakings related to artistic expression. Its activities underscore the idea of conviviality, and include reading, discussing, learning, and exploring curatorial ideas and exhibitions.
