SIAU Ming En

Senior Manager (Curatorial & Engagement), National Heritage Board

Siau Ming En is part of the curatorial team at the Founders’ Memorial, a new gallery and gardens experience opening at Bay East Garden in 2028. With a background in journalism and museum studies, she is interested in how contemporary stories can be meaningfully presented alongside Singapore’s independence and post-independence history in exhibitions. She is currently co-curating Not Mere Spectators: The Makings of Multicultural Singapore, a temporary exhibition examining how multiculturalism was thought about, talked about and consciously forged through policies, ground-up efforts and daily choices of ordinary citizens from the 1950s to 1970s and what it means for us today. It uses interactive media, art and conversation prompts to encourage reflection and dialogue, inviting Singaporeans to play an active role in shaping multiculturalism.
