The US Segment

The US segment is an integral component of our programme.

Association with premier business schools, such as Wharton Business School and MIT Sloan, makes our programme unique, unlike any other graduate programme.

The excitement on everyone’s mind about attending best of the best was immeasurable and energy infectious. It was amazing to see all 21 of us and EMBA participants come together, taking different flights, turn up in the lobby of Steinberg Conference Center well before time on March 18, 2013. Surely, we guys love punctuality! Well, a sign of a responsible leader! We all looked forward to learning from the best of minds in the business world. Someone rightly said “Wharton is the box-office of business world”! Each day was a new experience and not just academically learning about Venture Capitalists, Private Equity, Granularity, M&A etc. but holistically.

Once at MIT, it is difficult to leave uninspired. We were motivated and driven by the infectious spirit of MIT Sloan and its great faculty. It was not just the BBNN or UN Conference on Climate Change that was the highlight of the programme, but the life-long commitments that we made towards a sustainable world, as a result of greater awareness of the perils that the world faces. So, at the end of the two-week’s programme sustainability was not over, but just begun with promises from some to take cold showers and skip driving on weekends. That is definitely some progress!

Then came New York! Our last week as part of the US segment was our meeting with New York, first-hand experience from the experts about the future vision for New York, some cultural insights – Carnegie Hall, visiting some iconic buildings – Central Station, Rockefeller building, Times Square. New York is New York, the financial capital, and there is no other city like it because of its high energy and speed.

Over these 5 weeks in US, we were exposed to an abundance of knowledge, spent a lot of time together, had our meals together, bonded well and appreciated each other more than before. As the weather turned to Spring in New York, with new leaves sprouting and flowers blooming, a new leaf turned in the lives of NF 15.
