Nanyang Business School is a part of Nanyang Technological University (NTU). In the 2017 global MBA rankings by Financial Times, Nanyang Business School’s MBA programme is ranked 24th in the whole world, which rose 5 positions from the previous year. It is a position behind Duke University’s MBA programme. This means that Nanyang Business School’s MBA is ranked first in Singapore and third in Asia. Nanyang Business School’s graduates are highly sought after in the workplace, with a 138% increase as compared to the previous year when it comes to the starting salary of its MBA graduates.

Usually when people think about NTU, they get this impression…

But actually, our school looks like these!

  1. About the programme and its students

NBS’ accountancy programme is the best accountancy programme in Singapore with a long and illustrious history. We are proud of our programme, which is accredited by AACSB in both Accounting and Business, an honour only awarded to 6 other universities in Asia.

Applicants do not need to have any accounting background or work experience in accounting to be admitted into the programme.

At the moment, the majority of student population in this programme is Chinese students, followed by Singaporean students, and students from other Asian countries. We are working to include more students from other countries.

Admission requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from ANY discipline
  • GMAT or GRE scores
  • IETLS or TOEFL (if degree was not taught in English language

Tip: If you feel that you want a career change, or you have experience in working in the Big Four, you may want to consider this course. Having dual degrees and skill sets is definitely an advantage for future employment.

2. Course structure

This course takes place over 3 terms, with an internship in the middle. NTU professors hold their students to a high standard and academic rigour—from the classes, homework, projects and examinations.

It may seem extremely difficult and arduous, but it is definitely worth it. Upon completion, students can gain direct entry to the Singapore CA Qualification. This programme also allows exemption for eight papers for the ACCA accreditation.

3. Employment after graduation

Employment after graduation is definitely a concern for everyone. Many international students expressed a desire to work in Singapore upon graduation.

At the moment, there is strict regulation regarding work permit, with even a higher salary requirement for graduates to work in Singapore. However, our programme sees half of our international students remaining in Singapore to work upon graduation from our programme.

In addition, Nanyang Business School is equipped with a Graduate Studies Career Development Office (GSCDO), which helps students to find a suitable job upon graduation.
