NANYANG MBA

3 Reasons to Choose the Nanyang MBA

Learn why students worldwide choose the Nanyang MBA from Nanyang Business School (NBS) and how its mantra of “Global Outlook, Asian Insights” opens doors and paves the way to success.

From Asia to the Americas, students attracted by NBS’ innovative and interdisciplinary programmes supported by NTU Singapore’s technology and innovation strengths, world-class research centres, and industry connections.

Nanyang MBA graduates benefit from being classmates with a diverse cohort that sharpens their cultural adaptability, while participating in work projects gain them real-world industry experience to become impactful leaders prepared to solve the problems of tomorrow.

Real-World, Application-based Learning

Located in the heart of Asia – Singapore, NBS sits within a leading business and financial centre. Through capstone courses like Strategy Projects at Nanyang (SPAN), students gain the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in a real-world setting.

In SPAN, students participate in a “live” consulting project with a sponsor company. Made possible by NBS’ strong engagement with industry partners, projects are carefully curated to explore real-world problems companies face across a range of industries.

Through the engagement with companies in Singapore and across Asia as well as multi-disciplinary peer-to-peer learning with students from nearly 20 different industries, Nanyang MBA students practice and reinforce the business frameworks, interdisciplinary skills, and cultural competencies taught through their curriculum.

Melissa Vizcarra

Other opportunities to engage in real-world learning abound. Melissa Vizcarra Neira, former Assistant Marketing Manager at the Banco de Credito BCP, the leading bank in Peru, shares, “We have case discussions in more than 50% of the classes, real-world assignments in which we have to analyse or present a project to a company, guest speakers from important companies in Singapore, and SPAN which is a live consultancy project with industry partners.”

NBS’ holistic, multi-disciplinary approach to business education gives students the skills they need to be purposeful leaders. The dual imperatives of digital transformation and sustainability explored through case studies, business competitions, and other formats, equip students with the necessary skills and hands-on experiences to tackle the changing world of business.

Developing Cultural Dexterity for Success

With the typical class comprising 40% women — one of the highest ratios among MBA programmes worldwide — and total students spanning 15 nationalities, Nanyang MBA students gain exposure to a myriad of backgrounds, industries, and perspectives. By working and collaborating with classmates from around the world, Nanyang MBA graduates are prepared to succeed in increasingly diverse workplaces and global companies.

Global-minded business leaders must possess, demonstrate, and lead with cultural dexterity. With support from the world’s first Centre for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence, the Nanyang MBA prepares students with the cultural dexterity they need to become successful leaders in today’s workplace.

Each MBA student must take the Leading People Globally (LPG), a capstone leadership course which aims to develop culturally intelligent leaders proficient at managing diverse teams. LPG builds skills across four key areas: leadership, talent management, negotiation, and cultural intelligence. These skills prepare students with the cultural dexterity they need to lead with impact.

John recollects, “In marketing, I worked with those from a Chinese, European, and Indian background, with three of my five groupmates being female. The perspectives they shared were ones I hadn’t previously considered.”
