ORCID is a nonprofit organization helping to create a world in which all those who participate in research, scholarship, and innovation are uniquely identified, connected to their contributions and affiliations, across disciplines, borders, and time.

ORCID iD provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes researchers and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between a researcher and his professional activities.

NTU is a member organization of ORCID.

NTU Faculty members are required to sign up for an ORCIDiD (if they do not already have it), and grant permission to NTU via authorisation to use their ORCID data by April 30, 2020. They are also required to populate their works in the ORCID record by 31 May 2020.

Research Support Office, NTU collaborated with the Library and CITS to roll out the ORCID campaign to NTU faculty.  Two  “ORCiD – Authorize NTU” campaign roadshows were held on 4 February and 12 February to prepare NTU faculty to be ORCID ready.

Prof Fung Tat Ching, Director, Research Support Office shared about ORCID during the roadshows and NTU and NIE librarians presented on the authorisation workflow, how to populate the ORCID record, and some of the frequently asked questions.

The Library has created a self help guide and FAQs on ORCID. Have a look at the ORCID LibGuide to know more about ORCID.
