We are proud to announce that DR-NTU (Data), the NTU research data repository, has been internationally certified by the CoreTrustSeal Standards and Certification Board.

What does this certification mean for DR-NTU (Data)?

First, it means an independent authority has evaluated DR-NTU (Data) and endorsed its trustworthiness.
Trust is a big challenge in sharing research data. Data repository must be robust enough for researcher to trust, that if they share, their data won’t be lost, stolen or misused. In addition, funders and publishers increasingly stipulate that research data they fund must be posted to trusted repository.

Second, it means DR-NTU (Data) has been assessed across 16 assessment criteria covering organisational infrastructure, digital object management and technology. This displays transparency in research data management and commitment to service quality.

Third, it means DR-NTU (Data), as the first Singapore’s data repository that is CoreTrustSeal certified, has gained international recognition. CoreTrustSeal certification is both rigorous and nontrivial; only data repositories of a sufficiently high standard are certified.

DR-NTU (Data) CoreTrustSeal certification is valid until 28 January 2025.
