NTU Library has launched a Zotero interactive tutorial which provides a realistic user experience and lets anyone learn the key features of Zotero without having to install the actual software. In other words, a ‘test drive’ without installing.
Users can quickly assess if Zotero meets their needs before they take steps to install the software on their devices.
WHY USE ZOTERO?
Zotero is a free open-source reference management software that allows users to collect and cite references in their writing. It is easy to add references found in library databases and catalogues, journal webpages, Flickr, the Internet and more.
Available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, Zotero enables users to cite sources using the citation style of their choice. Zotero makes referencing easier and can save time for users.
ABOUT THE ZOTERO BASICS INTERACTIVE TUTORIAL
The Zotero Basics interactive tutorial is a self-paced module that simulates the software environment. The objective is for users to focus on the learning experience while going through a series of activities, or units.
The tutorial contains 11 units. Each unit takes 30 seconds – 2 minutes to complete and users are free to choose which units to do.
The tutorial is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Users will be guided by prompts and on-screen instructions to complete specific tasks.
WHERE CAN I TEST DRIVE ZOTERO?
You can find the Zotero Basics interactive tutorial in the NTU Library Zotero LibGuide.
We welcome faculty and librarians to use this interactive tutorial as an introduction to Zotero in their classes.
We have also developed interactive tutorials for EndNote 20 and Mendeley. For more information, please email dst@ntu.edu.sg
