Mapping the Territory for a Knowledge-Based System
“While today we have many powerful applications for locating vast amounts of digital information, we lack effective tools for selecting, structuring, personalizing, and making sense of the digital resources available to us” [44], a shortcoming of recent developments in ICT [45]. The novel PKM concept and prototype system-in-progress offers a solution. It merges distinctive voluntarily shared knowledge objects/assets of diverse disciplines into a single unified digital knowledge repository allowing for concretizing Popper’s abstract World 3 [22].
