Exhibition poster and brochure for Lens of the Voyager

This is an exhibition which aims to take viewers on a journey by peeping through the lens of a voyager, particularly, that of William Louis Abbott. Many of the artefacts presented in this showcase were acquired by Abbott during the mid 1800s–1900s. The project is conceptualised as a National Heritage Board Singapore exhibition and features carefully curated items from both the Smithsonian and various archives in Singapore. These artefacts aim to highlight the relationship Singapore had with the surrounding Malay Archipelago. This exhibition is split into 3 parts –the collector, the archivist and the spectator –with the aims of giving the viewers an insight into a voyager based on these 3 key characteristics.
