Our self-designed, 3D-printed turntable consists of 5 compartments for the storage of sorted screws. The turntable has a diameter of 18cm and partition side walls which are 4cm tall. It is connected via a shaft to a NEMA 17 Stepper Motor, which powers and rotates the turntable accordingly such that the desired compartment is aligned to the printer bed to catch the falling screws. The rotation of the turntable is specified by G-code

The NEMA 17 stepper motor is supported on a block and enclosed within Styrofoam cut-out, while the block itself is enclosed within aluminium profiles which are secured to one another. This is to prevent unintended movement of the stepper motor during rotation of the turntable, which could in turn affect the turntable’s positioning.
