[06/06/2022] to [10/06/2022] Update Log 1

June 6:

  1. Generator has arrived

June 7 – 9:

  1. Consulted Tony and tried to understand how the AC generator works
  2. 3D modelled simple handle and washer to test out hand crank system

June 10:

  1. Finished printing first handle ( Annex A )
  2. Cranking produce up to 15V without load
  3. Planning
    • Standing Leg Crank < 500N
    • Sitting Leg Crank < 300N
    •  Standing Hand Crank < 130N
    • Acceptable Length of Crank < 40cm
    • Acceptable Cranking rpm < 25rpm
    • Eqn: P = IV = Torque*rpm*(2pi/60)

Questions to answer:

  1. How fast must generator rotate to achieve power requirement of >17.5V and maximum current
  2. Can 3D printed pulley support tension of timing belt
  3. What is the efficiency of the generator

Planning with assembly model using Fusion360.
