Initially, our group was optimistic and challenged ourselves to recreate the entire industrial dumpling machine whilst having a customizable option, where the moulds could be replaced to make other foods such as wanton, xiao long baos etc.

However, given the lack of time and budget, it was crucial for us to rescope our project to something more feasible and yet produce valuable tangible results. Therefore, we had to give up automation on some of the processes, such as the loading and unloading of the dumplings, due to its extreme complexity.

We also sought to scale down our project, reducing the number of motors and reimagining some of the components adopted by industrial dumpling-making machines. One of such components was the meat dispenser.
