All of our group members had to attend CN Yang FOP Seniors’ Camp from Monday to Wednesday this week 🙁 Nevertheless, we still made solid progress on Thursday and Friday.
Chemical Equipments
Ryan and Xin Ru contacted their profs and managed to loan some of the chemical equipments from the labs. Now we can test our set-up with real apparatus!
Design & 3D Printing
We designed other components (laser & sensor scaffold, burette knob coupler, float, acrylic table cut) on Fusion 360. The former 2 are printed in MnT lab, while the acrylic table was sent for cutting in a factory.
Titration Sequence
We set up the chemical apparatus along with stepper motors, arduino boards, laser, and light sensor. This would be a complete set-up for volume measurement in our Autotration machine. Junius coded the titration sequence: turn knob to release liquid – burette liquid level drops – light sensor detects laser beam – turn knob back to stop releasing liquid – vertical stepper motors lower laser scaffold – stops when laser blocked by the float and record volume.
