Our day in the lab began with the testing of our electronics again, to which all worked except the sound again despite resetting our nano multiple times. *sigh*. We spent a very long time troubleshooting and testing individual components again. It was puzzling as our sound could work on its own but not when it was connected with other components in the circuit. Finally, amidst all the arduino website forums, we realised the reason for its failure was that the servo motors and speaker library used the same timer, hence they are mutually exclusive. The only way we could power both in the same circuit was to tweak the timer.
Desperately, we immediately tested the theory and after a very long time again, it finally worked. Success never felt sweeter. Though only one sound (starting sound) could be played, at least we know the audio sort of works. Yay!
We also planned on using a transmitter and receiver module for our ball collection area, but that’s a problem for another day and it’s more of a bonus addition. At this point, we just hope all our electronics work smoothly for once.
