Week 5

Week 5

This week, we focused on completing the first design on our pipette holder, which was designed to mount to the Ender 3 frame. We wanted a design that would allow for the pipette to be well-supported, yet still could be removed easily. We started with a generic design found online, but it quickly became apparent that it wouldn’t meet our specific needs. So, we decided to use the design as a starting point, adapting it to suit our project better.

Our team spent considerable time determining the optimal positioning for the pipette on its holder. We meticulously printed individual parts to verify their dimensions, ensuring everything was perfect before committing to the full print. This stage involved much trial and error and multiple adjustments to get everything right.

After a challenging week filled with revisions and learning experiences, we successfully created the first prototype of our custom pipette holder. The journey highlighted the importance of persistence and precision in our project, and we’re excited to share that we’re one step closer to achieving our design goals. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to refine our prototype!
