Our Problem Statement
Solar-powered traffic lights and CCTV cameras are becoming increasingly common in Singapore. However, their performance is often compromised by the accumulation of dirt and debris on the solar panels, which can significantly reduce their efficiency and power output. Current cleaning methods for these panels are labor-intensive and inefficient, requiring manual labor and resources. Neglecting to clean the panels can lead to decreased energy production and reduced functionality of these essential systems.
There is a growing need for an automated self-cleaning solution that can be easily attached to existing solar panels on traffic lights and CCTV cameras. Such a solution would effectively remove dirt and debris at regular intervals, maintaining optimal performance and energy production. This project aims to develop a device that addresses this need, enhancing the efficiency and longevity of solar panel systems while minimizing maintenance efforts and costs.
Our Vision
Our vision is to develop a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and lightweight solar panel cleaning machine that ensures the durability and optimal performance of solar-powered traffic lights and CCTV cameras in Singapore. By replacing manual labor with an automated solution, we aim to enhance the efficiency of maintaining the growing number of solar panels on our streets. Our device features a wiper mechanism, app-controlled functionality, and can be triggered by rain or a timer, ensuring continuous energy production and minimizing operational costs.
We aspire to revolutionise urban energy management by making solar panel maintenance hassle-free and sustainable, ultimately contributing to a smarter and greener city.
