Description
Problem Statement:
Conventional tumble dryers consume around 4–5 kWh per load and often damage fabrics, leaving clothes heavily creased and requiring extra effort to iron.
In Singapore, where tumble dryers are less common, most people rely on indoor drying with racks or bamboo poles. But with frequent rain and high humidity, clothes can take hours—or even days—to dry. Lifting heavy poles with wet laundry also puts users at risk of musculoskeletal strain.
Our solution aims to bridge the gap between modern convenience and traditional methods, creating an energy-conscious, ergonomic, and effective way to dry clothes.
Our Solution:
Vision:
Our vision is to provide a simple, energy-efficient solution for drying clothes indoors, even in humid conditions, making everyday laundry more convenient and accessible for households. Additionally, we aim to reduce clothes creasing, offering a gentler alternative to conventional drying methods.
Key features:
-
Smart Power Control: A built-in sensor detects water mass loss and automatically turns off the power when drying is complete, minimizing energy consumption.
-
Humidity-Resistant Drying: The system enables effective drying indoors regardless of external humidity levels.
-
Structure : Inspired by traditional bamboo pole setups, the structure maximizes clothes’ surface area exposure for faster drying and helps reduce creases, unlike commonly-used dryers.
-
User-Friendly: Designed to be user-friendly, with an integrated I2C display that keeps users informed of the drying progress.
