Learning Experiences:
Zi Yin: Through MnT, I have gained new skill sets such as 3D printing. I learnt to use Fusion 360 to create 3D models, then using simplify 3D to slice up the model to view what the printing process would be like before sending it for actual printing.
Ye Htet Lin (Brian): Throughout the three months, I learned working with DC and stepper motors, how to modify their speeds to get the desired flowrates, as well as developing User Interface and Serial (UART) communication between two Arduinos to control the LCD and receive the interpolated values from SD Card. Finally, I also learned how to experimentally set up the water dispensing system to control the flow rate and get up to 99% accuracy for fast flow rates.
Quan Yao: Through this MNT project, I have learnt alot on how we can apply what we have learnt in everyday lessons to an actual working device. Additionally, working on the PID controller for the DC motor trained on my logic skills as well as programming knowledge, on how to translate what i wanted to something that would be understood by the system. Bringing everything together via 3D printing also reinforced by knowledge and experience with CAD software, specifically Fusion 360 through the course of the project.
Joel: I learned not to directly connect an unregulated power source to the electrical system, and applied my electrical-related expertise where applicable, in this project.
