(16/6-20/6)
First time all of us worked in the lab together!
We designed and 3D holders for our load sensors to ensure they would lay flush against the mattress surface. However, the internal portion was 1-2mm too large and we go on to fix that in Week 3.
We also had our first venture into soldering (except Aubert who has been soldering since his secondary school days) in order to secure the male pin headers into the female pin headers for the HX711s. We also connected the four load sensors together in parallel by shaving and soldering the wires together, using a multimeter to test throughout.
We refined our code to obtain 4 sets of readings using 4 different sets with each set consisting of 4 load cells + 1 hx711 module. This allowed us to measure weight over a larger surface.
