Introduction

Hello there! Welcome to our blog! We are a group of year 1 students spending our summer holidays creating something that has the potential to transform the way the vision-impaired travel. This blog is meant document and explain our prototype as well as our motivations behind this project.

We believe that radical change, although important, should not completely displace small changes we make in our daily lives. Our project aims to introduce and integrate a new way for the visually-impaired to commute along the streets. Just a small change in a normal day-to-day product can significantly change user experience.

We want to be able to create a user-friendly product which adds convenience to our target group, the visually-impaired. There is a wide spectrum of blindness hence, it is difficult to find a common device within the group. We chose to create a small device that can be placed on the chest/waist. By adding some small adjustments to the life of a vision-impaired person, we can enable the visually-impaired to commute with greater ease and security.
