Week #1 Progress:

Week #3 Progress:

  • Further revision to capsules
  • Testing effectiveness of silica gel in the capsules
  • Designing of acrylic box
  • Ordered more types of pumps

Week #4 Progress:

  • Confirmation of air pump to be used in the air purifier
  • Revised the design of capsules
  • Comparison between silica gel and calcium chloride
  • Confirmation of silica gel over calcium chloride after testing effectiveness
  • Checking of air flow through the acrylic box

Week #5 Progress:

  • Borrowing of VOC detector and formaldehyde detector from CEE
  • Testing of effectiveness of baking soda tablets in the capsules
  • Testing of effectiveness of filter paper soaked in water in the capsules
  • Testing of effectiveness of charcoal pills in the capsules
  • Confirmation of 4 methods of removal: charcoal pills, baking soda, filter paper soaked in water, silica gel

Week #6 Progress:

  • Humidity test for final design (WIP)
  • VOC test for final design (WIP)
  • Formaldehyde for final design (WIP)
