In our previous post, we used stainless steel (from stainless steel cable ties) to create our snap-on rings. While it was functional as a ring, we felt that we could do better with a material that is slightly more rigid and yet also malleable enough.
As such, we made a trip to Art Friend to scout and look for a suitable metal strip that could make better rings. We purchased a few different thickness and types of brass strips and eventually selected the most suitable one to make our rings!

If you take a look carefully, our rings are not just made of the brass material. We have also coated the ends with a layer of felt. This is to prevent abrasion to the skin of the fingers when snapping the parts on.
Additionally, we have been using hot glue gun as a quick way to attach our rings to the structure. However, while this method is quite efficient, it is not very effective for long term use, as the rings can be pulled off easily with enough force. As such, we went ahead to purchase some Araldite epoxy to allow our metal ring to bond with the plastic components.
