We met up with our supervisor, Mr. Leong Hanyang, a person who is working in the field of 3D printing. During our meet-up, we finalized our project direction, which is to focus on building a 2D embroidery machine rather than a 3D embroidery machine. In addition, we finalised our schedule and project timeline to allow ample time for discussion, execution, completion and if possible, enhancement of our project. Lastly, he also gave us insight into which segments of the existing 3D printer that we should modify to create a 2D embroidery machine. Examples include ways to attach the needle to the machine (Eg. Using duct tape, until we confirm we can get the programme to work) and whether is it easier to modify a firmware or a software, etc. Overall, we managed to have a better idea on how to make progress on our project and by when we should be ready to at least present a basic working 2D embroidery machine.
