Final Presentation

We had our final presentation in the morning (as usual). You can find the link to presentation here!

Since it’s our final presentation, Dr Ho requested that we present on the blueprint of our prototype, highlight technical skills, give key difficulties faced and how we solved them – all within 8 minutes!

Claudia
  • Introduced our project and working principles
  • Difficulty #2: Hardware, Design & Assembly
Alexis
  • Overview of prototype blueprint
  • Difficulty #1: Generation of Linear Jabbing Motion
Vanessa
  • Difficulty #3: Coordinating Jabbing and X/Y Movement
  • Successful Prints
Carissa
  • Difficulty #4: Consistency in Printing
  • Cost of Building

Mr Hanyang came to talk to us after the presentation, and posed this question to us: How do we want to proceed from here? During the break between Group A and Group D presentations, there was a talk about entrepreneurship, and he suggested we can consider that as an option. πŸ‘€ Of course, depends on how much further we would like to go with our project!

After our presentation, we gave a felted piece to everyone who has helped us along the way (in one way or another) – Dr Ho, Mr Hanyang, Ms Tam, Tony, Guo Yao and Qi Jie! THANK YOU ALL! β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

Photo-taking!

We took some photos with Tony, Guo Yao and Qi Jie!

One of the many photos we took with our 3 favourite people in the M&T lab!Β

And finally, a photo with Qi Jie!Β

Video-making!

Although we’re done with our final presentation, we’re not yet done with M&T! We still have two more things left to complete (and submit before 8 August):

  1. Soft copy of A1 project poster
  2. 1-2 minute video of our project (either advertisement or mini-documentary)

After some brainstorming, we decided to imitate Disney’s video style of a mini-documentary. So we took some videos and a timelapse of a blue heart printing πŸ’™ We’ll be putting together the short videos into a longer, more coherent one soon!

The printed product πŸ’™

While the blue heart was printing, we also tried to felt a 3D green heart πŸ’š It’s pretty successful, but unfortunately it’s hand-felted and not printed with our machine. BUT we hope that our machine will be able to achieve 3D printing some time in the future!

For now, we’re gonna celebrate the end of our final presentation!

Dinner outing with PEANUTS!

… And we’re off to enjoy some Genki Sushi! 🍣

A pic of the first few dishes of our $80 dinner!

Needless to say it was delicious!! With both our bellies and our hearts full, we went home to rest for the evening. We’re not completely done with M&T yet — There’s still the final deliverables of the poster and video left, and of course, the Exhibition on 16-17 August. Look forward to it!
