Here is our final design! The details below are just some of the areas where our ingenuity shone through heehee

  1. Bell crank: correct actuator and lifting arm placement
  2. Double Parallel Actuators: Additional strength and sturdiness
  3. Wire Housing: Housing for motor driver and Arduino Due
  4. Motor Driver: Greater customizability of control system
  5. Clamps: Custom-built and optimized to fit unit, not purchased from market
  6. Fixed Connection: Additional strength and sturdiness
  7. Reinforcements: Additional strength and sturdiness
  8. Car Battery: Independent of external power source, greater mobility
  9. Trolley: Transport unit from storage space to MRT
  10. Aluminum Profile + Screws + Brackets: Faster, customisable

Preliminary visits to SMRT:

Train on a raised platform for maintenance.

Space constraints to install the unit.

 

Initial Design:

initial design using a retractable arm and hook to pick up the unit.

 

Second site vist to SMRT:

Various updated dimensions and details. The design was modified to better meet these constraints.
