Progress Log:

4 June – Online 3D printing course

22-30 June – Procurement of materials

9 July – Progress Meeting 1

24 July – Design of container, ordering of acrylic sheets

30 July – 3D printing of rails and shell for servo motor, set up of Raspberry Pi

4 August – 3D printing of Raspberry Pi case and running of codes to remove background of image taken by raspberry pi camera

6 August – Progress meeting 2, 3D printing of servo motor brackets and parts for vent, refining of codes

7 August – Assembling of vent, running codes for servo motor for vent, started constructing main portion of box

10 August – Assembling of spray mechanism with servo motor, running codes for servo motor (which failed as servo not strong enough)

14 August – Changed operation and servo motor of spray mechanism, running codes for servo motor

21 August – Glued side compartments of box and spray painted main compartment

28 August – Set up circuit involving Raspberry Pi, camera, LED lights and motors, continued assembling box

03 September – Replaced LED lights with brighter LED strip and continued doing circuitry, drilled holes and cut acrylic for box

10 September – Successfully tested out codes for color detection of banana, designed PCB board

11 September – Tried designing PCB board, drilled holes and cut acrylic for box

16 September – Replaced PCB board with perfboard and redid circuitry design

17-24 September – Took sample pictures of banana ripening process in box each day for calibration

24 September – Refined the box design, cut and glued more acrylic pieces
