Initial Phase

As with any project, the designs will keep changing and evolving. In this page, we will show the very first designs made while we were still intending on building our mixer from scratch.

Building mixer from scratch
Figure 1.1: Inspired by the Bosch Universal Plus Mixer MUM6N10UC, our initial design of the mixer consists of a few parts. Notable portions of the design are elaborated in the description and the paragraph below.

Figure 1.1:

1) There is a chimney-ed hole on the lid for putting ingredients into the mixer. The hole has to be big enough to add ingredients in without spillage.
2) At the bottom of the bowl, there is a twist-and-lock mechanism that secures the bowl to the protruding stick of the motor. An example of the shape of the bowl is shown in Figure 1.3.
3) Attachments, such as the paddle and whisk, will be attached to the top of the protruding stick of the motor, such that when the motor spins, the attachment will spin along with the motor and mix the ingredients in the bowl.
4) At the bottom of the mixer, there will be suction cups to secure the mixer to the tabletop and prevent the mixer from shaking too much.
5) The microphone will be housed next to the main body of the mixer.

Figure 1.2: This figure shows the assembled version of Figure 1.1.
Figure 1.3: Our bowl design will look something like this figure, with a hole in the middle of the bowl to allow for the protruding part of the motor to fit.

The project has changed since 17 June , and we moved on to designing Version 2.
