The Spot Cooling Device project by Team Chill Lah! aims to provide localised cooling to the user, so that you can chill all you want.

The Problem

Singapore has a high average temperature of 23.9°C to 32.3°C, with temperatures being amongst the global top 50. To combat rising temperatures, an increasing amount of households are installing air-conditioning units. In 2012, it was recorded that 76% of households own air-conditioning units. Often, many households turn on the air-conditioning for a room, only for an individual to remain seated at a spot as he does his work. Our team found that cooling an entire room was not as energy efficient as cooling the area around the person. As such, the Spot Cooling Device project was born, with the aim of building an air cooler that could cool a localised area!
