After a month of deliberation….. we finally got our ice mold!!

We initially faced so many problems sourcing our ice mold, namely that a custom stainless steel ice mold requires welding services which are pricey (a few hundred dollars), other materials such as copper oxidising over time and aluminium having much lower conductivity and the fact that other alternative options were not suitable due to shape constraints. However, during our recent progress presentation, we brought this up to Dr Ho and he gave us the go ahead to request welding services!! We found a company nearby NTU that offered us a price of $250 and went ahead with it, and so we’ve finally obtained one of the key pieces of our project 🙂
