Introduction

Did you know that around 250 species of coral can be found in Singapore waters? In such an urbanized nation like ours, very few people get to appreciate or are even aware of the rich marine biodiversity that can be found here. It is the hope of our group that we can make shallow-diving activities more accessible to any member of the public who wishes to appreciate and know of this underrated feature of Singapore.

On this blog, we will take you through our journey to developing our product, from carving out our specific product goals, to ideation, scientific learning points, design consideration, and execution. Enjoy!

About Us

Group A3 intends to create a possible solution for the average Singaporeans to enjoy the vast biodiversity that many of us never realized we had. Recognizing the difficulties many Singaporeans face today in trying to explore our natural marine environments, our group has worked to develop a prototype for a product that addresses each concern, such as cost and portability of diving gear, difficulty of access to dive sites, and others.

We have built a product that reveals a wide range of possibilities for DIY recreational shallow-water diving, without much of the hassle associated with complicated courses and equipment. Hopefully with this product, more and more people will be inclined to go out and truly enjoy one of Singapore’s most underrated natural wonders: our marine ecosystems.
