Here are five generations of brackets printed

  1. printed 28 June 2021 (transparent, black and grey)

Was a design taken from the internet!!Was too small, and too thin, and a suggestion was made to make it thicker!

Also tried out the different orientations of printing and realised that

  1. Printed 1 July 2021

Got the dimensions wrong uhoh whoopps forgot the 4 holes at the bottom, Huy suggested that we make enough space between the servo and the bracket such that it can fit a nut and secure the bracket in between a nut and a bolt!

We referenced Skyentific’s 6 DOF robot and Hasif came up drew a new system for the robot!

  1. Printed 2 July 2021 (the magenta part)
  2.
  3.

This part is printed to allow the servo to be attached to the first joint, that will be attached onto the aluminium profile!

  1. Printed 5 July 2021 (the white one)

Brain farted and decided to make a new bracket design with two indentations for the nuts, little did I know that defeats the purpose of having two nuts uhoh

  1. 6 July 2021 Decided to take a break from the brackets, reprint the original designs and work on the design of the links! And assembled whatever we have together

(the grey link looks fine!! Thankfully)

But the short U bracket is unfortunately too short to

accommodate a nut and this is what happens uhoh!

PROBLEMS that we have solved!

Also!! Initially wanted to do something like this

But uh!!! The nut was too big! So……..

This was our solution! To put the nut through the two opposite holes

Was also told today that

There should be a space between the servo and the grey part so as to reduce friction! So YEY!!!!!! Another modification to be made woohoo!!

THing to continue writing about:

Printing the transparent joint the base (modifying it from Hasif’s and also the fact that the first one broke + realised the holes were wrongly placed!!!
